Kathy NIcholas
Kathy Nicholas is a solutions-oriented coach for those seeking to make
positive changes in their professional and personal lives. Her can-do
attitude has led her down a road paved with great accomplishments professionally
as well as personally. Kathy excels at integrating the knowledge she
gained in the corporate world and in the arena of life. The many lessons
she learned along the way serve as the foundation of her coaching expertise
and contribute to her sincere desire to help others achieve their dreams.
Kathy’s own dream of launching a business has come to life with New Directions Coaching Company. It is built on the diverse skills gained through over 20 years in the fast-paced and ever changing media and publishing industry. Her first success in the field of entrepreneurship came when she founded “Sports Atlanta”, a monthly sports publication when she was only 26 years old. That led to climbing the ladder from a junior sales professional to Director of Sales in the magazine industry.
Not intent on a lifelong career in Corporate America, Kathy pursued a new direction and drew up the blueprint for her coaching practice. Her well developed business acumen, communication and negotiation skills coupled with her being a highly motivated and energetic team player have delivered results for her many clients who are seeking more in their careers and in life. She assists them in aligning their compass in a chosen direction and finding a path of success.
Kathy enjoys living life to its fullest by spending time with family and friends, traveling the globe and participating in sporting adventures. She splits her time between the beaches of Southern California and the mountains of Lake Tahoe where she can enjoy running, skiing, mountain biking, golfing and hiking. Her motto is to keep trying new directions and testing the compass to find the way home.
| "Kathy has been a mentor and example to me since my early days in the business. Professionally, she brings a remarkable career’s worth of experience and perspective to any conversation. However, her unique ability to advise and guide comes from adding to her professional background an overlay of personal wisdom, a balanced, even-keeled nature, and calming presence. She’s unflappable. She has worked with many different people and personality types, across many industries, and in many markets and various job functions and as a result she has the ability to recognize, identify and clarify strengths and weaknesses, obstacles and potential in individuals and organizations alike.
